PRIVACY STATEMENT OF LANIER PUBLISHING INTERNATIONAL (LPI)
Please take the time to review our privacy pledge and understand what we do and don't do with data that we collect from you.
Our privacy policy covers Lanier Publishing International (LPI) and its Web sites:
PROVIDING VISITORS WITH ANONYMOUS ACCESS
You can access our Web sites home page and browse our sites without disclosing your personal data, but you will not be able to complete purchases or other transactions. You may not be able to take full advantage of some or all of LPI's custom services.
AUTOMATIC COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
We do not use cookies on our Web sites for collection of information. See the expanded section below on use of cookies. We automatically log personal data by means such as programming or we link information automatically logged by such means with personal data about specific individuals. We do so for the following purposes:
- Technical administration of the Web site
- Research and development
DATA COLLECTION AND PURPOSE SPECIFICATION
We collect the personal data that you may volunteer while using our services. LPI asks for your name, email address, regular address, zip code, and country when you register. During or after registration, LPI may ask for other personal interests, address, birth date, occupation, and income range and may collect this information through personal interest forms, surveys, or contests.
If you purchase a product or service from LPI, a subsidiary or affiliate of LPI you will be asked to provide an address, phone number, and a credit card number for the sole purpose of completing the purchase transaction. This does not apply to purchases made on sites linked to by LPI. LPI keeps all personal information in a secure server that is only accessible to designated LPI employees.
If we wish to use your personal data for new purposes, we offer you the means to consent to those new purposes:
- by indicating in a box at the point on the site where personal data is collected
- by sending an email to: tech@travelguides.com
We don't send spam - we will ask whether you want to receive emails, newsletter, special offers and/or other solicitations from us or a subsidiary of or affiliate of LPI. You may opt-out of this at any time. If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending us e-mail at the above address, calling us at the above telephone number, writing to us at the above address or following the instructions for removal on the email sent.

ACCESS TO THE PERSONAL DATA WE MAY HOLD ABOUT YOU
You can ask us, by sending an email to tech@travelguides.com whether we are keeping personal data about you. Upon request, which you can indicate by sending an email to tech@travelguides.com we will provide you with a readable copy of the personal data which we keep about you, within a week. -Although we may require proof of your identity before release.
We will provide the information without any charge.
We allow you to challenge the data that we hold about you and, where appropriate, you may have the data:
- erased
- rectified or amended
- completed

SHARING OF DATA WITH PARTNERS AND OTHER THIRD PARTIES
LPI does not provide personal information to selected partners who we believe have offerings that would be valuable to you unless you have agreed to the release of this information. In no event does LPI release financial information.
If you do not want this information disclosed, please send an email to us at the email address indicated above and your information will not be released for any purpose.
LPI will disclose personal information when required to by law enforcement or other appropriate governmental authorities, or if the personal information is pertinent in a legal proceeding or court action.
MERCHANDISE/CO-BRANDED SITES
LPI has links to the websites of other companies to allow you to purchase merchandise. Separate companies with whom we have partnered run these sites. For some transactions LPI may receive a commission for any purchases you make on partner sites. We do not provide personal information to our merchandise partners however our partners will let us know what you purchased on their sites.
Each partner site has its own privacy policy on gathering information from you. You may wish to check this policy before giving out personal information. LPI does not control how a partner gathers its site or how they may use it.
COOKIES AND I.P. ADDRESSES
LPI uses cookies to store and sometimes track information about you. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. A cookie is set when you browse our site. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but by doing so you may experience problems using our site.
WE USE COOKIES TO
Enable you to obtain access to our member-only pages without having to retype in your login name and password; allow us to offer personalized services to you; Calculate the number of people who view our site (or a certain page of our site) to allow us to provide better service in the future.
All people who browse our site receive cookies for the purpose of tracking the number of people who visit any one page. Unless you register, we cannot identify you other than through the tracking number stored in the cookie.
ADVERTISING SERVICES
LPI provides ads to our site. Viewing ads will cause a cookie to be set in your browser. No personal information such as name or email address is tracked in these cookies. Each advertiser has a privacy policy on its site which you should review if you have any questions or concerns.
PUBLIC FORUMS
LPI, its subsidiaries and/or affiliates may make message boards available to its members. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.
CONFIDENTIALITY / SECURITY
We give you the option of using a secure transmission method to send us the following types of personal data:
- identifiers (such as credit card details, Web site password)
We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from:

- unlawful destruction or accidental loss
